Valley of King








I took two tours today starting from 8 am to 6 pm. The Luxor West Bank tour including three sites, but I entered only two, including Valley of the Kings, the burial place of most of the pharaohs of Egypt of the New Kingdom. I entered three tombs KV 2, 6, and 8 with colorful wall paintings. Although in winter, it was quite hot in the valley that requires hat, sunglasses, and sunblocks. Egypt recently changed photography policy that it is free to use smart phones to take photos, while there are still 200-300 LE camera fees depending on the sites.

Egypt 埃及 -  Jordan 約旦   I booked my flight into Lebanon in late February 2020, and had been monitoring the regional safety. The protests since October 2019 continues in Lebanon, but life continues there as well.  The outbreak of  coronavirus caused Beirut  Hostel cancelled my reservation,   so I took advantage of American Airlines ' free cancellation flights via Hong Kong offer and  re-booked  flights into Egypt. Basically, I reversed my travel direction from hot areas into colder areas and skipped  Lebanon. The Israeli lockdown triggered a domino effect, so I cut short my tep and came back to USA. Cairo bazaar

I walked 6.5 km round trip to Khan el-Khalili, after walking the Egyptian Museum for three hours non-stop. It is a famous bazaar located in the historic center of Cairo, Egypt With many important masques. It is also home to many Egyptian artisans and workshops involved in the production of traditional crafts and souvenirs.

Dead Sea

We hired the hostel owner to transport us to Amman Beach resort @ Dead Sea, so we didn’t have to go to JETT Bus station and still paid the same price with more flexibility. The Dead Sea is the lowest point in the world at 394.6 m (1269 ft) below sea level. We floated in the Dead Sea, tried some theraputic mud (yet refused to pay 3JD to cover the whole body), soaked in the swimming pool, then dried in the sun before the dessert storm hit. I attached the before and during the sand storm photos at the end for you. The overcast weather was perfect to enjoy the water without sunburn.
