Egypt - Jordan
Egypt 埃及 - Jordan 約旦
I booked my flight into Lebanon in late February 2020, and had been monitoring the regional safety. The protests since October 2019 continues in Lebanon, but life continues there as well. The outbreak of coronavirus caused Beirut Hostel cancelled my reservation, so I took advantage of American Airlines ' free cancellation flights via Hong Kong offer and re-booked flights into Egypt. Basically, I reversed my travel direction from hot areas into colder areas and skipped Lebanon. The Israeli lockdown triggered a domino effect, so I cut short my tep and came back to USA.
I traveled during Feb. - March, 2020 to Taiwan- Egypt – Jordan, and happily dropped my trip back to USA safe and sound. My trip highlights include (1) biking again gust of 14 Mph for 8 km to snorkel near the Blue Hole, Dahob, Egypt; (2) catching the Ferry from Egypt to Jordan mainly carrying Egyptian labor; (3) escaping Jordan and Qatar coronavirus lockdowns to fly back to USA like a refugee; (4) being harassed but not scammed when traveling solo in Egypt; (5) Wadi Rum Desert camping (Jordan); (6) staying in a Hilton-affiliated resort in Nuweiba, Egypt (with more staffs than guests); (7) running into a Polish couple in Wadi Rum Desert (Jordan) whom I met in Georgia (next to Russia) in 2013; and (8) reunited with my Costa Rican friend (met in Slovenia in 2015) in Amman, Jordan. I lived in Taiwan, Japan, and USA, visited Albania, Argentina, Australia, Armenia, Austria, Brunei, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cambodia, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cuba, Czech Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Honduras, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Iran, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Malaysia, Macedonia, Mexico, Montenegro, Myanmar, Nepal, Serbia, Netherlands, Nicaragua, New Zealand, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Puerto Rico, Qatar, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Taiwan, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States, Vatican City State, Vietnam.
Believe me, you can but do not need to learn local language to travel. I only learn one word of Farsi but traveled Iran for 3 weeks. After staying in South America for three months, Spain for 2.5 weeks, and Central America for two months, I speak just about 30 words of Spanish.
Other people deploy strategies such as working via the internet or remotely, finding jobs abroad, work-stay at hostels, guest worker at organic farms, etc., to realize their own overseas life style. If you really want to travel, you will find a way to do it.
Here are some budget travel tips:

Jennifer. I was just thinking why not buy that medical health insurance so that if you get corona virus they fly you out to civilization and make sure you get proper care. No point being hospitalized in some third world country.
