Day trip to Alexandria, Egypt

I woke up early to buy same-day train tickets out and back Alexandia, and one-way ticket to Aswan with no waiting line. Unfortunately, I got off the popular station instead of the correct station, such that I had to use tram to ride back to city center. The Waterfront in Alexandria reminds of Havana, Cuba, but dirtier and not as laid back.  Alexandria was founded by Alexander the Great, the legendry lighthouse that was one of the Seven Wonders of the World, and the Library of Alexandria was the largest library of the ancient world. However, their current versions were kind of disappointing. I walked along the Corniche to the Citadel of Qaitbay, then winy city roads to Kom el-Shouqafa, Pompey's Pillar, etc.
