9-hr layover at Doha Airport
After a DIY shower and 5-hr solid sleep in the female quiet room, I checked out the airport. It is a pity that Qatar close down its border such that no city tour is allowed. Fortunately, Qatar still allows transit flights so I can fly back to DC. Qatar suddenly changed the cutoff day from 3/18 to 3/16 when I departed Amman such that some passengers destined Doha couldn’t board the flight last night. Keep my fingers crossed for my 14-hr flight leaving for DC and smooth entry into IAD.
When in Taipei back in mid February, everyone wore masks which reflected public awareness of coronavirus and they have been successful avoiding community outbreak. On the other hand, people in USA, EU, and Middle East yet to learn to protect themselves. According to my travelmate layover in Dubai, no one wear face masks in the airport. I saw only 10% passengers in DOH wear masks, but almost 50% in AMM on 3/16.
